  • Who? The GAME math tournament is for middle schoolers of all genders- that is, students currently in or below 8th grade.
  • When? GAME will be held on March 12th.
  • What? GAME stands for Golden Arbitrary MathIRL Explorations, and it is a math tournament of AMC10-AIME level with two rounds- the individual round and team round. (Note, each team can have at most 3 members).
  • Why? The purpose of GAME is to encourage youths, especially those of the underrepresented gender, to pursue an interest in math and problem solving.
  • How? GAME will be held online, the test window will be open from UTC 8:00 am (PST-8, EST-5) to UTC 11:00 am the next day. Logistical details will be sent to participants via email a week in advance. We have strict measures to prevent cheating (switchint tabs/screens are not allowed, each participant can only submit once, and cameras are required for the full length of each round).

Individual round

The individual round consists of 20 problems to be done in 60 minutes, and is of early AMC8 - late AMC10 level, of AMC10 form. (Thus, all AMC10 rules are applied here and there will be five answer choices for each problem). The last problem is the tiebreaker and will be of AIME level. Each participant has their own form to fill out and their score is unrelated to the team score. Specific logistics will be sent to participants a week before the tournament.

Team round

Each team can consist of at most 3 members. The team round consists of 10 problems to be done in 60 minutes, and is of AMC10- mid AIME level. (Thus, all AIME rules are applied here and for each problem is a fill-in-the-blank question). Only the team captain needs to submit the answer form and teams can team up on their own or team up in the #team-formation channel of our discord server. Again, specific logistics will be sent to participants a week before the tournament.
